Automated Software Maintenance Using Search-Based Refactoring

• The research conducted in this thesis aims to explore the research area of search-based software maintenance and experiment with methods to maintain software using optimisation algorithms.

• The current state of the art in the area is inspected and then an automated refactoring tool is developed. The tool is then used in the thesis to create and experiment with different ways to measure the software. Then, using the automated maintenance tool and the developed approaches, a methodology is generated to automate the maintenance process.
