Automated Software Maintenance Using Search-Based Refactoring

  • I embarked on a 3 year full-time PhD project to investigate methods to automate the maintenance process of software development, using search-optimisation techniques and refactoring.

  • During this time, I developed a fully automated refactoring tool from scratch in Java for research purposes and for practical use.

  • I also had multiple academic articles published through peer review, in relation to the research conducted.
